Megan Sanchez, the editor of the Growl, has been named a Daily Iowan Scholar.  The Daily Iowan (DI) is the daily newspaper at the University of Iowa.  Over 100 student journalists applied for the scholarship; only four were chosen for an interview on the Iowa campus. The scholarship guarantees a monetary award for four years

She has cheered for the high school all four years of her high school career and also does competitive cheering for Heartland Spirit All-Stars. Dryg has competitive cheerleading practice three days a week for two to three hours to prepare for the competitions.
